KLHIISA supports immigrants and newcomers in Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton by helping people connect with community, access resources, and feel included in the place they now call home.
We believe immigrants and newcomers deserve to participate fully, enjoy a decent quality of life, access social and economic opportunities, and contribute to local development.
About UsKLHIISA is a registered member of OCASI (Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants).
Through this provincial network, we remain committed to advocacy, community engagement, access to resources, equity, inclusion, and welcoming communities.
Immigrants and newcomers are neighbours, workers, students, families, professionals, and community members. Some arrive from across the world; others move from another province, city, or town in search of safety, opportunity, family reunification, marriage, adventure, or a better quality of life.
Settling in a new place can be exciting, but it can also be tremendously challenging. KLHIISA exists to create a support system that responds to immigrant and newcomer needs while helping host communities nurture a welcoming environment.
Together with partners, volunteers, and community members, we support immigrants and newcomers so individuals and families can feel connected, included, and able to contribute to our region.
